Doggy daycare is a facility where you can leave your dog for the day to be cared for and entertained while you're at work or otherwise occupied. It provides social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical exercise. It can also alleviate separation anxiety and boredom.
Most dogs can benefit from daycare, but it's important to consider your dog's temperament, behaviour, and socialisation skills. All dogs that enter Dougal's Doggy Daycare are evaluated to assess compatibility. If your pet is new to daycare and you are booking for a 'MEET & GREET,' please just select a suitable date and don't worry about the time. You will be called to confirm your booking by one of our staff members.
The most suitable times are usually early evening when the centre is slightly quieter.
All dogs need up-to-date with the C3 vaccine, (which combat canine distemper virus, canine adenovirus and canine parvovirus ) to attend daycare. Proof of vaccination is required at enrolment.
All dogs must attend daycare on a leash, wearing a collar with ID tags. Some owners do provide comfort items like a favourite toy or blanket. We will administer medications if required to do so.
Most of our doggy daycare clients eat meals at home before and/or after daycare. However, if any dog needs a meal while here, we are happy to feed them during the mid-day nap time or as part of the puppy program. All dogs will receive treats/snacks throughout the day but not entire meals.
