Rules and Regulations

At Dougal's Doggy Day Care, we are pleased to offer our services from Monday to Friday, operating between the hours of 7 am and 6.00 pm.

Dogs may be dropped off starting at 7 am (no earlier), and should be picked up by 5:45 pm. In the event of a late pickup, a fee of $15.00 per 15 minutes or any part thereof will be applied. We appreciate your prompt communication if you anticipate being delayed.

For the comfort and familiarity of your pet, we kindly request that all new dogs join us at 7 am on their first day. This introductory experience allows your dog to acclimate to the environment before the arrival of other canine companions.

Orientation and assessment appointments are available by appointment only. We will contact you when a day care placement becomes available. Please bring your dog to the appointment for assessment, allowing your dog to familiarise themselves with the environment before their first day.

Please be aware that we only accept well-socialised dogs.

To ensure the health of our canine community, all dogs must have current vaccinations. Owners are kindly asked to provide official documentation confirming their dog's up-to-date C5 vaccination, which includes protection against Canine Cough.This can be uploaded on our online portal.

Your dog must wear a collar with an ID tag and be leashed at all times when entering and leaving the daycare. All personal items should be clearly labelled with your dog's name. We kindly ask that you refrain from bringing choker chains, as they pose hazards during play. Personal toys or bones are not recommended, as our environment is cage-free, and exclusive use cannot be guaranteed. Rest assured, we provide treats and an array of toys for your dog's enjoyment.

Day care fees are due and payable at the time of booking. We offer the convenience and a discounted rate with bulk payment options.

Our current rates are:

One dog, one visit per week: $59.00 per day 

Two dogs together for one visit: $114.00 per day 

One dog, (using a 10 day package): $57.00 per day

Two dogs, (using a 10 day package): $112.00 per day

Owners will need to certify that their dog has not displayed aggressive or threatening behaviour toward any individuals or other dogs. Although our staff are fully trained in dealing with a variety of dog behaviours, if your dog exhibits leash reactivity upon entering or exiting the daycare, they may not be accepted into the daycare environment.

All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age before commencing their day care experience. For puppies, we recommend a minimum of 2 weeks acclimatisation at your home before joining us at day care.

For the safety and comfort of all guests, dogs aged 7 months or older must be spayed or neutered. We kindly request that owners provide official documentation as proof via our online portal.

All dogs must be in good health. Upon admission, all dogs must be free from any illness or condition that could potentially be transmitted to other dogs.

For dogs requiring medication, please ensure medications are clearly labelled with written instructions, including your dog's name, medication type, dosage, and frequency. If your dog will require medication, please notify us in advance. 

Dougal’s Doggy Day Care reserves the right to decline admission to dogs with communicable illnesses or those taking medication for such illnesses. This policy is in place to safeguard the overall health and welfare of all dogs in our care.
